Hey Sara,
I would give it at least 1:15. I keep thinking it only takes an hour, end up in traffic, and end up late.
BTW, a work colleague of mine met you at scuba diving, I believe.

Think you and Jim can still catch all the eddies at this level? Were there 12 in 25 metres or something?

It's going to be above 180 on the gauge... The eddies might be among the trees on top of the canyon...

Looks like Sara and I are in. With big boats! Still 10 am at the Tim Horton in Hawkesbury? Let us know if it changes!

Hi folks,

The Canyon section of the Rouge is  an 8 KM section situated about 20 KM north of Hwy 148.
At medium levels it's rated as class 3 but with the river currently running at a high level, 180 cms, it will be more likely class 3-4 in difficulty.
For those looking for some practice for the HOHW race on the Pet in 2 weeks, this should do nicely.
Check the Myosis site for details: http://www.myosis.ca/fi_rouge_canyon.htm

Plan to meet at Tim Hortons in Hawkesbury at 10:00 AM; Google/GPS co-ordinates 45.610517,-74.604518

If you'd like more info or want to arrange rides, give me a call after 6:00 PM Friday at (613) 224-8507
