Did anybody find a black fleece shirt in their car?  I think I left it somewhere in somebody's car that day.

 ::) Who? Little me??

We kept close up to Lovers.
At Lovers, I was thrown first to the sharks and in the shady waters below, somehow, I was more focused on staying upright than close to my partners in crime.
Might as well paddle hard and stay upright...anyhow, with their creekers they'll over run my Super Star soon enough.
I must have had a pretty good line down Lover, straight up the crest...

After doing the last rapid, I turned around and could not see anyone past the bend...yikes.
The finish marker being right there...might as well stop the clock and then wait.... and wait... how did I get over 30 of lead...
Possibly just as Paul got over 30sec on Christian...

Next time, we'll tie the boats.

For the record....

Christian and myself waited for Louis and we all went down together. After we all went down Lovers, Louis somehow rediscovered his competitive nature and started pulling ahead of puzzled Paul and puzzled Christian who were heard muttering, "wasn't Louis supposed to wait for us so we would all reach the finish line at the same time...?"

Louis!!!!

Paul ::)

Hey I see Adam Chappell at 8:07.
Shouldn't we be able to count him as CdB? Adam?

I also see Adrian and Rob way below than my mere 10:07 from our (Christian/Paul/I) tri-some non-competitive venture.
I heard vague stories of a bad day for the creeking duet.
Annie beat our time by 20 seconds - must have been all that armor and protection.
I also note that Jacques beat Larry! Way to go man! Beating Larry is no small feat! Even after doing that 360...

Anyway, I was happy with just coming to the finish mark without a swim, injury or total loss of face, for this first participation.
And would like to Christian and Paul to the support.
Next time, I'll likely bring my Habitat and may take this more seriously.
I was concerned with the amount of people, but beside the excess waiting (departure at 16h16) and the rain, I enjoyed the company, chatting with many and ... seeing Kevin being clamped by Bill.

HOHW and KOC

Hi

The HOHW race occurred last week on the Petawawa River. The purpose of the race was to raise the profile of the river, raise some funds and have some fun at the same time. There were lots more people than last year and everybody enjoyed the event. Money was raised for Whitewater Ontario and "Soldier On". And the most important result was that the whitewater community got a a seat at the table of the advisory committee for the (future) dam.

The King of Clubs(KOC) ran in conjunction with the HOHW, taking the fastest 6 times from the different clubs. The official results indicate a 4th place for the CdB, but there is a error in the calculations so the CdB is in 3rd place. Results are attached.

If you not familiar with the KOC, it is a friendly competition amongst paddling clubs in Ontario organized by KWP and GKC clubs. More it get people out to participate with their club in various events than anything else. The main event is to happen on the Labour Day Weekend. One event, "How many boats can you put on a car" will not occur this year because several cars got damage last year.
