We got to Blacks and within 5 minutes I was back in my car!

Drew and I had a great time on the Ottawa's Main Channel today. Drew is a beginner and had never run the Main. We ran all the rapids. He is a new club member and has a decent WW Roll. Except for one swim at McCoys and that's after threading the Needle successfully, he got tripped on a little water ripple, and went through left side Horseshoe, near enough the middle tongue that no harm was done. The rest of the rapids came fast and furiously. My line on Normans was very exciting. I completely screwed up the line, staying too near the center and got type-writted onto the left wall. Got stern endered twice, but managed not to flip... Drew aced that line and barely got a hair wet... We ended up at Blacks takeout and some nice paddlers gave us a ride to the put-in. Speaking of Put-in , we finished off with delicious poutine at the four corner chip stand. Welcome to the club Drew!

The Main was so much fun today, and Larry didn't swim... , I think I'll paddle it again tomorrow, Sunday. Level is -1, perfect for run and play and the temperature will be nice, I promisse! Meet me at the Eagleston Park and Ride at 10:30 or at RR at noon. We'll be using the Blacks Takeout.
