Ran the Canyon Twice at 375 this satruday. Not much play there besides the Canyon's HUGE Breaking wave! The size of bussy I would say, with the dynamic of Garb.. Drop in only! Awesome big water run though! I guided our raft through the last rapid called Hell's Gates.. Awesome! Yesterday we ran the bridge rapid and White Dog.. There is one nice wave below the bridge..2 waves at Whitedog and at the last rapid before table rock, there are 2 waves also.. the one on far right shore is beautiful! Like Upper No Name. I surfed our raft on it!  ;D

my boat is orange.... who else lost their boat on there?

Not there, but on the Mississipi. Ask Jean-Nicholas...

Too bad for MACKFest. We had fun. About the car: I understand, I just bought one... --C.

Ha! Make sure your boat isn't orange, Cl?o... That's two orange boats I've seen stuck in rapids in my short paddling carreer...

How come we didn't see you on the Black last Saturday?

Whitedog rapid is about 2kms downstream of the Green metal Bridge.

Heres a few pictures (level is 285cms) and a link to refer to for a map..

http://www.quebecwhitewater.com/en/river-level?task=view&id=11

The wave at white dog is in fact the EIPC Wave! although I was told you have to ferry across a pretty mean looking hole! Adam, Marcos, Brandon and a few others are camping out there this weekend! Im pretty sure its the wave theyll be surfing.. CJ also said they found another sweet wave somehwere.. not sure where..

The BIG BIG one on the upper canyon is where one of the guys swam yesterday! not a happy swim.. Its almost impossible to scout the canyon run as the water is pretty pushy, Richard told me.. Hes said the rest of the run was awesome big water run!

Hey John are these waves you speak of good for playboating? where is whitedog rapid?  a raft guide from the rouge told me last year that there is an epic surf wave at this level on the river but i don't remember where... is that possibly the one in white dog?

The sisters section is huge at this level and is one continuous rapid from Elizabeth's through to the rapids below washing machine. Class v in my opinion. Actually, in the spring, given the cold, difficulty of rescue, and continuity of the rapids, I would say class v any level above 250.
Stay safe!

Upper Canyon according to my buddies who just ran it is what Jim said.. That standing wave today was apparently like a mini bus sized Garb! And then there was Turbo who was easily avoidable if you stick to the right...

There is also a massive hole that becomes a huge wave at white dog rapid...

Perhaps Richard can explain better! I will see it myself this weekend!

The canyon section has a large breaking wave, after the canyon there will be nice wave trains with the only concern being Turbo which is where the river turns sharply to the right, avoid the river left side.

Seven sisters section has two class 5's at this level/water tempature and i'm not counting the falls section at the end of the run which is not runable at this level. Scout Elisabeth and Washing machine before running.

Hi,

The rouge is at 421 and I heard it was alot of fun when it's high. Has anyone run it at this level that could tell me a bit more about it? I'm thinking of doing a run on sunday.

Thanks
