I was looking for a new kayak so I called the number and got a fax.
A reverse look up on the number comes up with a Home Hardware in Barry's bay.
Is this the right number (613-756-2007) and what store did you get your kayak at?

I won't make it kayaking Friday since I'm helping someone move.

Steve

Hi Steve,

It is a hardware store in Barry's Bay that is converting itself into an outdoors store.  It hasn't changed banner yet, or website.  I just call the number (no fax) and they told me what they have left:
1 4Fun, 1 2Fun and 2 Hero creeker boats!

The name of the store from google map:
Yakabuski's Home Hardware
19551 Opeongo Line West
Barry's Bay, ON K0J 1B0
(613) 756-2007

Hi

Martin, Chris E. & myself are doing the middle tomorrow (Friday), meet at the put-in for 10 am. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome, looks like it will be a nice sunny day.

Hi falls,

So far you are the only one that has shown interest for tomorrow. I'll try again next week with the CdB.

I'm heading up-river for a park and play session, but could be talked into a quickish run.  I'll probably meet up with John at Garb, but I'd be willing to run the main if any of you Middlers are willing to change your minds.

Times anyone?  I'll probably be putting in around noon; depending on the baby.

Hi, this is Ryszard Kowalski, my nephew, Martin, wants us to do a trip down the middle channel this week, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday would be OK, however Thursday's weather looks like it may be thudershowers. If anyone is interested let me know.

Hi Robert,

I am not sure... I only looked for Jackson Funs!
...But I think so!  Give them a call: (613) 756-2007

They would be at 40% off as well.  Also, they have dry suit on sale at 50%: 500$ instead of 1000$, great deals!

Unfortunately, they don't have their website up yet.

I bought my kayak over the phone yesterday morning, and picked it up yesterday afternoon.

Hi Christian,

Sorry, no Bate Island tonight; I was being too optimistic on the drive back and forth to Barry's Bay.  It's a 2011 model.  They were having a 40% sale on their new kayaks: paid 690$+ tax!

It's a nice green, black and white color.
I'll be at Bate Island Thursday at 6pm.

Can't make it before, mountain biking tomorrow and at the theatre Wednesday ;-)
See you then!

Jon, have fun on the Ottawa tomorrow ;-)

Which model year/generation? They changed it in 2010, the new one is like Marc's, with a 'cut' tail, and the old one has a round tail (see below). The current model (2010-) is nice and forgiving at 55.5 gallons, the previous model (2007-09) is smaller at 54 gallons with a catchy tail, and the pre-2007 model is even smaller at 51 gallons which is too small for the quoted paddler weight range IMHO. Oh, and the sensible thing to do is to replace the yellow foot bag with a piece of 3" foam cut to shape. That way it's more reliable for rolling and bracing... Make sure you take it to Champlain or elsewhere to adjust the outfitting before going to the Gatineau!

What time are you going to be at Bate Island?
