There is a calendar entry for this, so I am 'unsticky'-ing this topic.

If Palmer River Fest is similar to the old Palmer Fest, then
--clinics are two hour long, from 10 to 12 and from 14 to 16.
--except for the playboating clinics, which may take place at Hass Hole, everything is within a few minutes paddling off of Paddlers Co-Op or Jessup's.
--is anybody else going? Don't know but it's a nice opportunity for a beginner or intermediate paddler! A good place to meet people anyway.

I want to sign, just curious: is anyone else from our club thinking of going?

Other questions: If someone attended a previous year:

1. Are the clinics close to the camping ground (i.e. do we pack a lunch or can we get back to eat at camp)?
2. How long are the clinics and what time do the typically run?  I couldn't locate this information on their webpage!
I will look again though!

Thanks,
Caroline

Other event: Palmer River Fest 2013.
www.paddlerco-op.com

Hello all.

The 2013 edition of Palmer River Fest is approaching. It is a weekend of paddling skill clinics, equipment demo and other activities, mostly geared towards beginners, but also of interest to intermediate paddlers, whether in a kayak or a canoe. The event takes place on the shore of the Madawaska river at Paddlers COOP, in Palmer Rapids, during the long May weekend (18-19 May). Check their website, and the list of clinics they offer:

http://www.paddlerco-op.com/content/paddler-co-op
http://www.paddlerco-op.com/content/palmer-river-fest-2013

The Paddlers COOP is a not-for-profit organisation, for only 120$ per person including camping for two nights this is an amazing opportunity! Especially for beginners--even children--to learn skills and meet other like-minded people. You get four clinics of your choice, there are movies and it is a nice party for all ages, including children. Many of us have participated in previous year, and all agree that for someone who is looking to learn paddling skills, it is an extremely good value, especially since it happens at the beginning of the season. We thus encourage all to participate, but register early, as the event has been sold out in the past!

And to prevent confusion--our club's first official activity takes place essentially at the same place, but is typically the next weekend, so it is possible to attend both! Cheers...
