Other event: Palmer River Fest 2013.
www.paddlerco-op.comHello all.
The 2013 edition of Palmer River Fest is approaching. It is a weekend of paddling skill clinics, equipment demo and other activities, mostly geared towards beginners, but also of interest to intermediate paddlers, whether in a kayak or a canoe. The event takes place on the shore of the Madawaska river at Paddlers COOP, in Palmer Rapids, during the long May weekend (18-19 May). Check their website, and the list of clinics they offer:
http://www.paddlerco-op.com/content/paddler-co-ophttp://www.paddlerco-op.com/content/palmer-river-fest-2013The Paddlers COOP is a not-for-profit organisation, for only 120$ per person including camping for two nights this is an amazing opportunity! Especially for beginners--even children--to learn skills and meet other like-minded people. You get four clinics of your choice, there are movies and it is a nice party for all ages, including children. Many of us have participated in previous year, and all agree that for someone who is looking to learn paddling skills, it is an extremely good value, especially since it happens at the beginning of the season. We thus encourage all to participate, but register early, as the event has been sold out in the past!
And to prevent confusion--our club's first official activity takes place essentially at the same place, but is typically the next weekend, so it is possible to attend both! Cheers...
