Hi Larry,

Thanks for the offer, but I have a commitment this afternoon -- for which I'd need to be home by 3:00 at the latest.

Similarly, I have a commitment tomorrow (Sunday) morning... but would be available by 1:00 should you (or anyone else) be heading out around then!

Thanks again!
Peter

Peter:

I am planning on paddling at Champlain today but am only available this afternoon.  Let me know if you can rearrange things to go in the afternoon.  I could pick you up about 2:00.

p.s. Just to throw it out there too: I'd love o get paddling on the Ottawa (or elsewhere) before too long as well.  Would prefer to start with the Ottawa middle.  And I'm unfortunately not available for the next couple of weekends, so would hope to get out during the week, if anyone is so inclined, and has room for one more!  :)

(And can't make it to the June 15 Newcomers' Day, but am indeed aiming for Ottawa River weekend, and the Beast Feast!)

Cheers,
Peter

Hi everyone!

Is anyone interested in paddling at Bate Island tomorrow (Saturday) morning or Sunday afternoon (Jun 8 or 9)?  It'll be my first time out this season, with all my new-to-me gear, and... I'm car-less, so looking for transportation there and back too! :)

(I'm at 1132 Gladstone, just two blocks in from Parkdale, quite near the Parkdale exit from the 417, and only 4.5km from Bate Island.)

And just to be clear, I'm a relatively new paddler... so while I don't need 'hand holding' as such, there is the real possibility that I may swim; my roll is definitely improving, and I've paddled the Ottawa middle and main and the Gatineau last summer, making it through each set of rapids (minus Garvins) at least once without swimming.

Thanks,
Peter
