It has been my experience as well, measured myself and ordered the corresponding size, and it fits great! Kokatat are the best, and very dry.

Kokatat's sizes are correct, unlike some other locally owned brand. I ordered a custom size using their website (and MEC) without even trying one first, and it fits me very well.

I'll second this.

I ordered the size I measured from their site and it fit me perfect.

Yes,

visit the Kokatat website at http://kokatat.com/products/dry-suits/gore-texr-expedition-dry-suit-men.html and select the "Sizing" tab below the images.

Hi Dani,

You can either go to a store and try one on or check out the size details when you google kokotat dry suits.  Their sizing charts are precise.  Check out the small measurements and height Dani.

Cheers,
Gwenne

I have forwarded our list down to the Manager at the Mountain Man Outdoors Store in Old Forge.  Right away he stated at 30% discount.  He will get back to me.  If some of the colours are not available, some of us may need to be flexible.  If the colour is a deal breaker, please advise.

Their taxes are 8.25% which will be another  savings.

If the order is ready within the next couple of weeks, some of us will be there for Moosefest.  There is a $5 charge to have items shipped to UPS in Fort Drum.  It is very easy and I have used it.  There is also the same service available on Wellsley Island at a hardware store.

I would be interested but with you turning on your charm, the discount needs to be more than 15%.  I will ask paddling friends here in the Kingston area and see if I can get some names to add to the list.

Thanks for the info.

So far we are 6 on the list.

It looks like we will be able to get 15% off from a local shop. The discussion are still on going.

For your information... if you don't get your numbers:

As a CDB member I received a 10% discount on a WGMED from Kokatat last year at paddle shack.

Ahh... One year too late. Which retailer do you have in mind? Last March I placed a custom order (shortened legs, medium socks) on Kokatat GMER Large through MEC. Total close to 1200$ modifications and taxes included. No regret whatever.

This dry suit is very good if you make sure it fits. For tall gangly guys like you Jaclin, no problem: the large will fit you as is. But for short thick guys like me, custom cut it is...

Good luck!

Drysuit - Group Order
« Reply #1 on: September 24, 2013, 10:37:48 PM »

Drysuits can be expensive. Not so much if we manage to place a group order of 10 drysuits at once.

I have been calling around and it looks like we could get at least 15% off if we are 10 or more placing an order together. The savings could be even better once I turn on the charm ...

The details are not final at this point as we need the exact number of people and the expected item (model, size and colour).

So, if you think you may be in the market to buy a new drysuit in the next 6 months, you may want to consider joining in.

At this point, I am looking exclusively at Kokatat GMER (for man) and WGMED (for woman). The going price at a local retailor is around the 900$ mark (+ tax). With the group deal, we could expect to pay around 770$ (+ tax) or better depending on the result of my negociation. Note that Woman suits a slightly more expensive due to the "Drop Seat" mechanics.

So, At this point, I do not need any commitment from anyone, just a show of interest so I can see if we are close to 10 (or better). I will need from the interested parties, the model (GMER / WGMED), the size and the colour.

Once I have an idea of the numbers and the details, I will be in a better position to "discuss" with the distributors. Once we settle on a deal, then I will be requesting a financial commitment from whoever is still interested.

Note that any dealings we do now will only produce suits for next season (March, April 2014).

So, if you are interested, send me a note with your details directly to my e-mail (Dufresne.Jaclin@Sympatico.ca) and I will let you know how the negociation is going as it progresses.

Jaclin.
