The problem with most other hydrofoiled stuff kayaks is not enough propulsion to get up on the foils unless
you are being towed. At least the sailboats are self propelled.

The last one shows more clearly how it's done. Louis, with all you shop tools, can you make one that could be strapped to, say, my paluski boat? That would be really cool. Maybe I'll build it myself! I'd have to come up with a way to steer the contraption... For another crazy hydrofoil case: the Decavitator!

Just trying to give our bachelor-kayakers a fighting chance here...

This type of sailing on hydrofoil looks cool.
I saw something similar for surfboards. They were trying mega waves and the speeds were simply too great for a stable run.
The surfer was loosing control of the surfboard. It was bouncing violently on surface ripples now significant in size for the size and speed of the surfboard.
With the hydrofoils, the surfboard was not in contact with the rough surface anymore and much higher speed could be obtained in full control.

Hey, there is nothing preventing us from fixing such foils under our kayaks...heuuuuuummm.
Can you get us a couple of those foils?
(I don't see us trying that on BYOB...)

Louis I'm insulted! I sail too and don't fit that description. Maybe you just don't hang around with people

Britania Yacht Club is private property.  Please leave your cars on the city streets and paddle over.  However, if you do want to park next to the wave, a schedule of fees can be found on their website: http://www.byc.ca/welcome/member_fees.html

It will be a very busy weekend there as many sailors will be preparing boats for winter storage.  You will be very conspicuous.

I have no idea what the level on the Ottawa are at the moment but I was wondering if anyone was interested in a park and play. I'd like to go to Pushbutton if the level is right. Sunday would be best but if I could be back early enough on Saturday, I could go then.
