Took five minutes leaning against the hot air vent in Paul's car until I was able to unzip my PFD.

Oh, Paul and I (and later Ian) visited Paddle Shack afterwards (via Whispers), and I bought a Level 6 Hot Fuzz top there. And boy am I now happy to have it. It's soooo warm, considering it's such a thin layer! Last night I was biking home after midnight and didn't mind the -20 degree temperature. Quite recommended for any situation when a warm layer is needed, including apr?s-ski or other activities...

glad you had fun , I used to bring a small cooler of hot water and leave it by the shore dipping my hands to warm them  :o  when the gloves were crappy way back ,  or occasionally splash on a frozen face,  now I still bring hot water to pour on zippers etc .... to undress and a foam square to stand on while changing.   If I head out I'll definety let you know.

Agreed, tons of fun had by all.  However, extracting oneself from a frozen PFD is SUBSTANTIALLY more challenging than escaping from chinese finger traps!!

If there is anyone foolish enough to continue paddling into dec/Jan.... fire me a line.  I will probably be heading out again next sunday and possibly tomorrow.

Woohoo! It was fun and very, very  cold...., frozen skirts, frozen PFD, frozen zippers, brrr... I think that's it for me for this year untill the warm weather returns. Christian, Ian and I all had tons of good surfs!

Paul ;D

PS Christan, fire off the pics!!!

Well, as it's getting cold, I wouldn't mind staying in town... Paul, are you going tomorrow? Give me a call, 613-355-2470 anytime!

Sounds pretty good to me.  I am tempted to head out to beachburg if the levels are right.  Has anyone heard what the river is running at?

I've got a few rolls for those who haven't...  --C.

This sounds like a good idea. Get our December paddling in early this year. Level seems to rise a bit (above 3.3 right now).

So what I think we should all do is go surf at Sewer Wave, Saturday, December 6, at 2pm. Afterwards we can go to Whispers, eat, drink and solve all of Canada's problems... All are welcome, Conservatives, NDP'ers, Liberals, Bloc Members, Green Party Members, Cyclists, even recumbant cyclists. One condition though, have appropriate cold water clothing (like a drytop at least, Ian....)and must have a roll!
