  *****SEWER WAVE PHOTOS*****
Here are Photos of Sewer Wave from today (Paul-- Po-Po) bring a camera next time.,, This is a not so bad level ,a tad low , but still o.k. , especially for winter "take it easy and don't roll paddling"
I remember surfing the second wave (just behind main) at this level  for a few days in the summer ,  The Ice doesnt seem any concern at all , I will definetly try to head out next warm day!

just buy a bag of rock salt

You'd think there'd be enough salt runoff spewing out of the sewer already to solve that problem... ;D

just buy a bag of rock salt and pour a big line across the ice , it will melt and break it of on a day or two , I did a huge chunk at champlain a few years back  :o    just don't be on it when it breaks off.

I guess I could bring my collection of ice axes, crampons and screws.
They will welcome a bit of action and less dust.

Hey Guys,

Regardless of the wind, I'm still planning on heading to sewer wave for 14:00 today (if it's no good, there's always Deschenes which could be up now as well (I will try to head by there prior to meeting up to check it out and see what conditions look like there).

Cheers

This sounds like fun!  And, I've never kayaked in December.

It's +9, and they're warning about 60-90 km/hr winds!

At this point, I'm planning on being at sewer at 2pm.

Let's see if that plan continues until 2!

I went for a look today, Saturday and there's a small wave with a foam pile, good for front surfs, and spins. With all the ice the river changes, some ledge ice underwater downstream, paddler left..., safe, not safe? Ice shelf by the banks, same question? We will have to check it out and make a decision when we get there. Throw ropes might be an idea, with a bystander standing by the shore?... Sunday now looks like the best day with a high of 7 Celsius!!!! I'll be there at 2pm, per usual, much later and you lose the sun and warm weather real quick... If you decide to come, please have cold water gear and a solid roll, no beginners please!

Paul :)

Will bring all sorts of safety gear and maybe we do a rotation (after you surf you set safety ... easy to do since we'll likely have to walk up anyway)...see you there for the game time decision.
