If you keep it in your mouth while paddling, then you should be fine.
The saliva contains antibiotics...

Actually, duct tape would do the trick as well as it would keep the bateria away from the the opening in the skin.

Forniculi? Man! What are you doing at night?

Wel I stabbed my thumb with a rusty sharp iron bar tonight, assembling a hammock, and after coming back from Emerge I am now landlocked for a week until the hole in my thumb scabs over. I don,t want to come down with what Louis had, what was it?..forniculi or something...
