Topic: Paddling this weekend & July 1st!?

OK - 9AM then at Westgate shopping center - we can meet close to that restaurant since the mall will be closed and we do not have to hide in the back: I have a small wagon and a wide roof rack therefore I can fit two additional paddlers and gear; I am coming from Gatineau therefore I can pick up someone on my way over if there is a vehicless paddler among us.

how big is the party? - I seem to only count two more at the moment! It will be warm and wet and crowded in Ottawa...hmmm that may also be true for the WH2O Ottawa...but we will have a much healthier fun!

Paddling Wednesday sounds like a good idea...

The Westgate mall as a meeting place was, I believe, a great location.
More central and next to the highway. And we can park cars in the back for the day.

Sleeping in while the rafters are barging in through McCoy is also a great idea.
And I am eager to try out my All Star in the play spots...
At 5, what do we have for play spots? (Middle and Main)

The reason I mentioned to meet up there at 11am is that by the time the shuttle is completed, we were on the river at the tail end of the bubble.
Between 10:30-noon it is a gong show at McCoys with 3 raft companies and kayakers in one spot. Plus you get to sleep in.

At the present level of 5  ... most of the raft trips go down the Main, leaving the Middle channel empty.

It was great to meet some of you on Saturday - I was paddling a Solo canoe with the Y Canoe Club and we criss crossed each other during the day;

so someone suggested to meet at the Ottawa put in for 11AM and I will up that one just a touch - I sent an e-mail to my friends suggesting we meet at the Bushtukah parking lot at 8AM on July 1st = so we should be ready to paddle (after the shuttle mayhem) ?10:30-11AM; would like to do the Main but the middle is also aok as it will be my first river in a kayak in over 5 years + in a new kayak -Dagger Axiom 8.5 (hopefully it is not too voluminous - wonder if I should have got the 8!?) + it depends who shows up!

I might be interested, but as it is already 11h00 and am tired after an evening out with the kids, I plan to sleep in a bit longer on Sunday morning. Will call in the morning and if you are already gone....then so be it.
