Surfing in Paradise?

As I had an interview in Montreal this morning,
I brought my kayak for some post trauma stress release and a bit of exercise too. ;D
Weather was gorgeous and the water warm.
The foam waiting for me with open arms.

Habitat 67 is only minutes from downtown Montreal and easy to access.
Ratio of board surfers to kayakers is likely 4 or 5:1. Most of them do not wear helmet.
May be 10 people in the queue when I arrived (lunch hour), down to 5 when I got in my kayak, down to 1, 2 hours later....time to pack up.
Wave is a lot better than the Dessert wave right now...and a lot less work to get there and back...
Can I have a spot like that in my backyard?

Check this link for the aerial map at the bottom for the Habitat 67 wave.

You can see the tennis court and to its left the parking spots aligned on the side street.
Walk around the court to the tree line at the shore and follow the trail up river to just above the rapids, where the trails goes down.
There is a strong eddy and an easy current entry takes you down to the wave.
Take out is level to the end of the Habitat 67 housing structure.

The picture shows 2 surfers in action, with the top wave being the main wave these days, and the one I played on.
The lower one was very narrow and all green, but steep.

(P.S. The connoisseurs will have made the connection between the title and the older Imagine boards foot note...)
