Thanks Jim for the photos!

Now for the fun part: did anyone notice that on that outing, there were THREE creek boats thad had once belonged to Paul, but no sign of Paul himself? Ha! Report cards, he said...

Ahh! Louis, you couldn't have said it any better... I have to admit that when I saw ice valley I thought, 'here we go again - I am in over my head' as I had never been spring paddling before...I thought that was what it was supposed to be. Once we found water, the day was great. There was enough challenging rapids and the rest of the river was almost constant easy rapids. And just for the record, the water was a warm...I only rolled 3 times...once thanks to Christian for 'saving me a spot iin the eddie'. Yeah...thanks Christian;)

Great spring paddling day all around boys:)

Sandra

Good crew that stuck to it and got rewarded...
SandraK, Don, Jim, Bill, Dr Christian, Peter from Amprior and then John our open boat representative.

The start wasn't promising; the Montreal group ahead of us bailed out after about 100m, so did a small group of open boaters from Ottawa.
Low water and lots of ice...Under-cuttting icicle alley...Ice bridge...you name it.

We all agreed to try again at the next bridge....he he he...
Tout vient a point a qui sait attendre, as we wisely say.

A bit bony, but the sun came out and later on at Boston Pizza, the day was rated a success;
(Even though the first and continuous section was sorely missed by a few.)

John and Peter ran the waterfall. Sandra tested the water temperature and Bill had tea with the locals.
We must note that Christian didn't add any scratches to his helmet this time. Bummer?
We surely added a few to our kayaks...

I recall not feeling quite in my element on the Achigan, last year.
Maybe all that sushi I had on Friday...
Most of us (including me) even ran the last ledge/hole after the hairpin turn section.

Wife just got in from the big Bon Jovi show (we're in Montreal)...time to jump into bed...

We should see photos appear here soon...

Good. I suppose big boats are recommended? My little Blunt feels small, surrounded by those massive Habitat 80's... See you tomorrow!

--Christian.

P.S. Actually, the boats are not that different, see below...

I'm in too and would not mind carpool from Ottawa. Let me know if someone is in and we can figure out a meeting spot.
