Alex de Matane and I met Annie and Vera at Baby Face.
Followed by Wendy.
Then some time later the CdB party (Bill, Mike, Liz and Don, SandraK and Dr Christian) arrived.
More Baby Face. A few good tips from BenF got me on a roll...
And since we'd been there quite a while we followed the CdB gang down to Garb.
Alex, Christian, Sandra and I played in Garb.
Shawn was there with GrahameH.
I had a couple of good runs and a couple of bad/very short runs on Garb.
Especially short one after saying to Shawn that I found garb easier than Baby Face....darn!
Christian had a least one good run. I didn't get to see the others.
But my last run in Garb was wicked, covering Garb top to bottom, left to right with several 360s and 180s - with and without my paddle. I
t is interesting to run Garb trying to recover your paddle and getting water jet streams down your throat.
Kuf! Kuf! Darn paddle, get back here. Kuf! Kuf! I said....Ah! that's better...and then... Zap!
Already short of breath for inhaling those jet streams and the intense (for me) workout on the wave...3 attempts to roll...that's it I really need air now.
Results: I was saved by an angel named Nini from Norway...
Aaaah, Nini from Norway....
(must be the lack of oxygen.... I am not normally like that....or am I?)
End results...happy, tired, in love (Nini!!) and pride affected, but no loss of sunglasses for me.
Long ride back to Montreal with lots of kayak club talk with Alex and now....a bit of recovery and reality at work....ouf!
