Please don't wait for me.  I live way out in the east end of Orleans and will meet you in Vallyfield.

There is always water there.
Until the St-Lawrence dries up that is.

The St-Laurent is actually feeding that little river that goes through Valleyfield.

With the lower levels I suspect that the holes will have some "bite" to them.
2 surf waves at the bottom and a pool to practice rolling or recovery.
A couple of holes at the top for more action.
Lots of natural rocks forming plenty of eddies.
Plus a scary seal-launch into the jets feeding the river from the St-Lawrence.

Cool. So let's meet at my house at 9am. There's room for 1-2 cars to be left behind.--C.

Since we are going eastward this time and I have to pick up Christian (I think), why not meet at Christian's place (He might have some parking in the back for people leaving their car). I believe it's 87 Goulburn avenue, off of Laurier East, in Sandy Hill. How about we meet at 9AM?

Here's a googlemap for those of you unfamiliar with the Sandy Hill Area.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Is there water there? If so, how's the lineup for the features? Could be cool, but only if it's relatively empty--it's still a good drive! --C.

Link to Valleyfield:
http://www.kayakvalleyfield.org/Parc-d%27eau-vive.html

How to get there:

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=100+Boteler+Street,+Ottawa,+Ontario&daddr=50+Rue+Dufferin,+Salaberry-de-Valleyfield,+QC+J6S+1Y3&geocode=FXBGtQIdbfV8-ylj3gKI5ATOTDH_oyLhg_7xgg%3BFbWksgIdOt6U-ylLOmWBME7JTDEcKXAvCdVwVg&hl=fr&mra=ls&sll=45.262895,-74.1308&sspn=0.003134,0.006856&ie=UTF8&z=9

Bill says it's actually way faster to get there as googlemap assumes you are driving at 70km/h...

Looks like it is a 300 meter section of artificial white water slalom course (Class 1 to 3) with many nice sufable waves and holes (With parking right beside a shopping center looking down on the course).

Heres a link to see some pictures: (Go to bottom of the page for pics!)
