To the delight of the peanut gallery, Larry attempted 7 times to roll back up, following one of his several surfing passes to Pushbutton today.
He finally self-rescued himself before the rescue team, Coast Guard and News chopper dispatched to the scene even arrived.
The day that Larry swam - July 20th, 2010, Father's day - will go down in history.
I was told that the club treasurer had secured proof of the incident and nothing would leak to the press.
Being a good sport, Larry was later seen laughing with the said gallery.
Now, for those who decided not to join us today, see what you missed?
My only regret today, was not having my glasses to fully appreciate this notorious event.
But we can always count on Larry for a great day on the river.
Note that there will be a ceremonial burning of a certain red kayak, Thursday evening at Whispers, around 21h00, following the inauguration of the Potvin-Gigault monument securing the Remic wave's eddy. We will have full press coverage and a public address.
All are welcome to share a pint with our local hero... by the fire.
Love, affection and kisses,
LD
