Last year my sister-in-law collected a battered, bruised and exhausted brother-in-law after the Saturday Beast Feast run.
Since then, his body may have recovered, but not his pride, I think.
And also since then, he went through a winter in-pool course, got a 2010 Fun to replace his _R5_ along with an H2O bent shaft, L6 dry top and the works - from a Montreal fellow dropping off the sport. He also worked on his roll.
Last Sunday, after hosting his older daughter wedding - lake house close to Grand Remous/Maniwaki - I got to witness his excellent progress and determination. He has enlisted his best friend in his efforts and will be joining us in another iteration down the Gatineau.
Looks like Elise should be joining us as well.
My plan is to get them to play at Bonnet Rouge on Saturday afternoon and then go down the river with the group on Sunday.
That should give me the chance to expose them to rapid negotiations now that these 2 guys have a pretty regular roll.
Elise and I should stick around for Saturday's communal dinner, but I hope salmon will be offered again as we are both not too strong on meat.
Anyway, I am glad to see the list of participants stretching and eager to see many of the usual suspects.
OK, maybe except for Paul.
BTW, I think there has been a few changes regarding the put-in/take-out/camping. Anyone can share the info on that?
Tourlou!
