Topic: Spring run Petite-Nation - NEXT WEEKEND April 8-9-10

Well, the day was awesome!

The level was about 36 cms witch is about 11 more than we ran it in November!

With a river this wide.. thats ALOT more water... Didnt expect that at all! there were breaking waves and Holes to avoid (witch I didnt) but I didnt swim! The rapid before the "Portefeuille" had a pretty big hole river right that Richard managed to go around! I punched in and got rocked twice and flushed out!.. With my confidence being a bit low since my Blakeney Mishap..I walked the "Portefeuille" rapid thats the only rapid thats considered a Class IV according to Quebec Whitewater.. I ran the "Slalom" and 'Portes de l'enfer" and all the other ones! At 24 cms..The boulder in the middle of the river at the "Portefeuille" sticks out alot.. at 36..water goes halfway to the top... So I assuming there was at least 3.5 feet of water higher! The "Rapides des cascades" was awesome 1km long wavetrain!! Awesome for practicing wavewheels!

The levels been rising and its now at 47+cms!!

Richard and I are taking my truck already..

Perhaps it would be conveniant to meet a Bate island and leave from there..it takes about 50 minutes to get to the Petite-Nation.

What time were you guys thinking? I was thinking around 10:30 or 11:00 AM at Champlain.. we can run a few laps and at this level (35 cms) there are waves to play in as well and come back in time for supper.

Any other takers for Friday? The more the Merrier.

Good Day CDB'ers!

Drove from St-Andre Avellin to Sudbury this weekend.. Stuff up north is pretty frozen still..Dont be fooled by the low levels on the Ottawa... they are holding alot of water up there above Swisha!! 

I was wondering if anyone would be keen on running the Petite Nation next weekend!? The level is 30.5 and going up!

Its starts to be real fun class II to III+ water for 7kms..! Good warm up run for the season and the ice has broken Thursday overnight! If you are keen on going.. please post below what day and time! Its 45 minute drive from Hull.

Id be a nice run for everyone and easy shuttle too!
