I would be down for the gatineau on sunday or monday.

I have a car, but the roof bars arent up as of yet, I could work that out if we decide on the gat early enough. would you guys want to start it at lions head?

The rouge/ptite nation both on the same day also seems pretty interesting...

Bonnet Rouge Rafting is the place call.  Website reported river level 15 as 13 May. Ph# 1-888-449-3360

The Mercier dam controls the outflow into the Gatineau river. Unfortunately there is no gauge below this point ... well not really.

http://www.ottawariver.ca/emain.htm, updated daily in the spring but only once a week during the summer.
The height reading is in Maniwaki, but you would need some correlation with the Bonnet Rouge stick gauge.

so far 163.58m = 15 on the stick gauge ???

Larry

According to the damn report the level is now @ 900.  I asked A week ago and was given same answer.  Must be another damn that is not monitored at the output of baskatong reservoir.   Hmmm food for thought.  Still interested in running it though :)

Sounds like we have some people interested in running Gatineau River.  Myself and Mathew plus a couple of others.  When is good for you people?

Weekends are best for me but I am not ruling out a week day :)   I can drive 3 other people plus equipment.  I can carry much more equipment.

The water is usually colder on the Gatineau as an FYI.

So who is in and what dates are good?

If you call ahead of time, the folks at Bonnet Rouge will be happy to provide shuttle, even in the spring. They're just not staying at the take-out yet, so they need a head's up.

Do you have a vehicle?  Rafting co is not open yet for shuttle? Talk with friend to see if I can arrange trip for tomorrow.

I was also wondering about high tension. I called the bonnet yesterday and was told that the river is at 15 they also told me they would update the gauge on their webpage today.. the river needs to be around 18 for the wave the be in.

The measurement is from a la tete des Rapides Ceizur.  Not sure what this equates to level but last August the measurement was 25 (3 on gauge at Bonnet Rouge) compared to the 800 measure this morning.  Anybody have some idea if High Tension will be in?  Will try and call Bonnet Rouge Rafting this morning.
