While some club members were about to enjoy a new river in Quebec, yesterday, a commando formed of Paul, Jacques, Todd and myself left our city at the crack of dawn in order to execute a rescue operation on the Upper Petawawa river. The timing of this expedition was crucial: we had to wait for the water level to drop sufficiently, yet everything had to be wrapped up before the long weekend, when the park would be invaded by hordes of hikers who might 'find' our property. The operation, performed with surgical precision, was carried out in less than two hours and resulted in the recovery of my dry bag, which happened to be in the stern of Jacques' Hero, itself stuck in a rapid. The recovered equipment was essentially intact and fully functionnal, and all dents have now completely popped back out on their own.
