Daniel,

I hope you see this before you leave for the PN.
I wont be able to make it out tonight as I have to stay at work a little later!

If you decide to put in at the culvert, which is on the right hand side of the road under the first little overpass, you need to go about .5 kms before you get to a little class 2 rapid.. you can either eddy out river right and scout from the remains of the bridge thingy or just scout from the boat and keep left of the big rock in the middle. There is nothing to worry about at this level, no holes or anything.

Have fun!

John

That upper canyon section is just a km long! you can actually walk back up and run laps! :)

Instead of parking at aquaventure, you can park on the highway and run the whole river..

See map below! :)

The red circle is the Aquaventure put-in

The Green circle is the culvert put-in off the highway

The blue circle is the upper canyon called le slalom et le portefeuille. IMO the best rapid of the river and the section pictured in the video above and the photos below (level was at 35cms).

Daniel and others who have yet to run the canyon, This is a GoPro video I found of it at similar levels as it is now IIRC.

Daniel! Super belle descente.. Jte montrerai ca!  :)

I did the lower section the last 2 sunday! and maybe 20 times the last years  but never did the canyon...

I am going there(start at Aquaventure) wednesday (5pm) with some friends and if you are around  at this time, I would also like to see the canyon with you before!
