Hey I am new, signed up and paid for my membership today.

Anyways. I will probably be up on the ottawa this weekend at least one day. Most likely sunday.

I leave from ottawa (actualy ashton), and go up to paddle at pushbutton most weekends, so anyone is welcome to come along.

Unless someone else wants me to join them.

Indeed. I got your payment--welcome to the club! As for paddling, things often get decided on Thursday evenings, over beer at Whispers on Richmond Rd, so stay tuned!

--Christian.

Great! I am kind of desparate for people to paddle with. Took about a 5 year break from paddling and really only got backinto it this summer.

Caro! The first rapid they show on the Ouareau is definately a class V and walkable. Daniel ran it last spring..you can ask him how it went!  ;)

There will be alot of us so you should definately tagg along with us on whatever river we plan on running! :)

I might be paddling Thursday but I doubt it as I really hurt my shoulder yesterday.

Hi J-N,

I think it's great that you are stating to make palns for Saturaday already!
Unfortunately, I think that these rivers are too big for me - especially the Ouareau  :o

I would like to try the Rouge however, if there are enough experienced paddlers around  :D

Otherwise,  I'll likely paddle the Main or the Gatineau, or an easier river if there are any other ones interested.

Are you thinking of paddling at Champlain this Thursday?

C.

I'd be in for a run this weekend. While I am happy on any river, I'm always keen to try something new.  I'd be down for a Laurentians run, or venture down to NY.

Bill and I did discuss a few runs in the Laurentians last week, but we couldn't get out then. That's definitely an attractive option for next weekend. The lower Rouge around 160 is 'epic' in a playboat, but still fun. But I suppose many would switch to a bigger boat anyway. --C.

HAHA I know I know im a bit early! is it Friday yet???  ;D

With the water levels going up, I though that running different stuff would be great and alot of options are open or will for next weekend.

Beginner Run : we could do the Assomption 7 chutes run?
http://www.quebecwhitewater.com/en/river-level?task=view&id=40

Intermediate Laurentians run : would be Ouareau- Les cappucines (currently at 37 cms but went up to 50+ with a bit of rain last week) at around 60cms its fun and challenging considering the holes and rocks in the Cappucines section. If prefered, we could run the upper Section along with the Jean-Venne.. a good intro to creeking. thats what id love to run!

Ouareau upper Section

Jean Venne

Otherwise, the rouge is at 124 cms and still going up.. my guess is..well get the rouge at over 160 by the weekend which could make for an upper canyon fun run or lower canyon carnage run!

We can talk more about this Thursday as well...
