You're right, Ryan.

Rafting companies use a benchmark of about 120 cms as an upper limit for running the Seven Sister section of the Rouge.
It translates roughly to a faded red line painted on a large rock at the Propulsion Rafting put-in.

I think I am confused.  I thought there were two sections of the river that were run at different levels.

The first being the Harrington Canyon, which I haven't run, and can't comment on.

The second being the 7 Sisters section, which begins beside the road, and includes Elizabeth's, Slice & Dice, Washing Machine, and the series of water falls.

Am I right?

My gut tells me the second sections is a bit hairy at this level, but the first is more in line.  Kind of like Main vs Middle Ottawa at high levels.

Ill join Daniels run on the Harrington Canyon for 10 AM in the morning and if some of you guys are running the Sisters canyon in the pm ill join as well! Ill also run the green bridge rapid called "steep trout". Been wanting to since last year.

Just for clarity, when people refer to the seven sisters section, they are usually refering to the "lower" section, but not necessarly the falls.  Most people only run the "First Sister" (Elizabeths), but portage the remainder. Most of them are unrunnable above 50 cms, and even at 50 cms are difficult drops that are not often run.  The exception being the last drop, which is a little easier, but still requires serious consideration.

Daniel,
I prefer to do the canyon too and the sooner the better because I have to be back in Hull at 16h30.  Renaud and some friends from Mtl should be there too to run the canyon or so I hope.

Let's keep in touch.

We have no intention of running the 7 sisters section at this level, so don't worry about that

I'll probably tag along, but I'll wait and see what the final decision is.  I'd like to experience the canyon section, and am having some questions about the 7 Sisters section at such a high level.

we dont know if we will do canyon or 7soeurs but if the tendance is stable the 7 soeurs will be at 145m3s on friday i never do the canyon but i heart at 100 m3s its  a low level  for this section.

so what do jeremy and johncyr think doing about friday both section or  just 1 ?

Graham and I should be good to go as well. My cellphone number is on my profile. We're going to be coming up from Montreal since I'll be visiting family. Cheers!
