Judging by town section levels of the Pet, the upper will not be paddleable (but the scenery is good, and there will be camping lol)
Why not convince her that instead of paddling in a duo, what would be more fun is going to NY to WATCH you paddle! I managed it lol, and Beaverfest seems to be the "family" paddle fest of the year.  Google puts it at 2:45 from Ottawa, great little campground, hiking, spectator friendly whitewater (some of it anyways) Think about it!

Forget about Indian/Hudson. You need a dam release to paddle the Indian (10 am to 11 am on weekends), and the Hudson is still a bit big for your situation. Plus it's really too far from here. No water in the Madawaska. If you're lucky, the Petawawa might rise; the lake Travers to lake McManus route would be a good choice, but at this level expect to pull your boat with a rope though a few 'rapids'... DuMoine would also be a good choice: easy when low, amazing campsites... but long shuttle. What about Rouge 21 Milles?

For a ver relaxed 3-day, no whitewater, you can go up and down the Barron Canyon: start and stop in the same spot, no shuttle. But if you want whitewater, go elsewhere.

Lower mad?

Lots of camping all along it, easy class 2-3 whitewater, beautiful scenery.

Might be too low to run right now though.

Hey guys!

Taking the Labour day weekend to do something with the Mrs.
Shes never paddled whitewater before. I was looking for something a little more "into the wild" than camping at river run and somewhere I could easily paddle with her in a duo, providing I can find one to rent/borrow. I had thought about the Indian/Hudson in NY but ive never paddled it and its like.. 20kms of Class2-3 and it kinda looks shallowish and its kida far. I was thinking like.. 2 hour drive ish....

Its late summer and levels are kinda low so no idea...

Any ideas guys?
