I think I'm in for Saturday. I just have to confirm nothing is going on with my wife (which I'm pretty sure is the case). I'll post once confirmed.

Maybe even try a surf on mini bus or bus. If we got time.

I am probably in (sorry, I hate being that tentative)

How is Champlain?  No surfable wave yet?

(I also want to look at Mini Bus / Buseater)

Hi all,

Given the time change that happened last weekend I would prefer to meet at the take out for 10:15 or the put-in for 10:30 otherwise we may risk it being dark when we get off the river.
Let me know who is coming so that we can arrange the shuttle, given Martin's state of agitation due to lack of paddling last weekend we HAVE to go this weekend.

I wear a Level 6 dry top & dry bottom  2 piece outfit  & it seems  to work OK, I tried a short swim 2 weeks ago at lunch time and had no problems.  Granted not as good as a 1 piece unit  but it is a viable albeit cheaper alternative.

Kokatat, Immersion Research and only a few other manufacturers make good dry tops. My Level 6 Mack keeps me refreshed throughout the day... I am just waiting for the similar dry suit to beginn doing the same to order a Kokatat.

At this time of the year, a good dry top is ok if you swim no more than once. The water may actually be warmer than the air!

Too funny. I have the level six reign "dry-ish" dry top too. Effin thing leaks like a sieve.
Waiting on next spring to get the dry suit. All the peeps at paddle shack say to wait cause all the seam taping is changing on next years models with a few of the companies.
Guess I am dry docked for now.....

Before I had a drysuit.. Id paddle with a farmer john wetsuit and a "Mack" "Dry-ish-top" from level six...All through winter... didnt swim until spring and it was cold but ok. Even did my raft guide course 10 hours out on the icy Rouge in early april..That was another story being in and out the water all day and sleeping in the truck... I think youre fine with a wetsuite and drytop so long as you dont swim every rapid.

You could get away with splash pants, and a dry top. Wet suits are out for sure. I suppose you could wear wetsuit pants and a drytop though. It really depends on how good you are. I paddled a few weeks ago in board shorts and a dry top, knowing fairly certain I wasn't going to be getting wet. Its your call, but this time of year the dry suit is coming out for me

What r u guys running with out on the river?
I am guessing a dry top and wetsuit are out?
Here I am waxing my snowboards and buying a seasons  pass and looking to book a trip out west.
Do I need a full on dry suit?
I am going through withdrawls!

Me and Richard are thinking about a nice middle channel run, the level was at 17 on Sunday according to Ryan. But the level will most likely change by Saturday.

Meeting at WT at 11:00 10:15

Ps. After we run the middle maybe we can take a look at mini bus as it was in last weekend and should be in this week. Or if we are lucky we get to see buseater.
