So what happened to the Titanic on its first trip ever? It hit an iceberg. Looks like I found a name for my new sea kayak...

What a great Day at Champlain!

Plenty of surfs, a minor mishap of Titanic proportions, a prolonged underwater stay of execution, plenty of good friends in attendance (Christian,Bill, Adam, Larissa, Jim, John, Dave, Sean, Don!, correct me if I'm forgetting someone...). Whispers Pub afterwards with good nachos, tall tales, some of which were actually true....

Paul ;)

Hey Guys, I am racing tomorrow, and Luc I did get an email saying stuff about the race. We were gonna run hogs back, but levels are to high so no.

Not particularly impressed with CUKC at the moment.

Someone on their facebook page has pointed out that the last time he ran that section, there was a riverwide strainer.  To date, the club has not acknowledged the hazard.

Maybe I've stumbled into the "get off my lawn" stage in my life, but I'd feel better knowing they've scouted whether the cable has been removed before they send wave after wave of rookie paddlers down an icy river.

Speaking of which, I signed up a few days ago, and the online response was that they would confirm via email later. I haven't received anything yet. Martin, did you get something?

As an excuse to shake the paddling cobwebs out, Myself, Christian, Bill and Adam are paddling around Champlain Bridge this Saturday, March 30 at 3 PM.

Before Champlain Bridge, we're going to go watch the CKC White Water Race and Drops and Rodeo at Hogs Back Falls, near Carleton University, at 1PM. If you want to come watch the race, join us at the Hogs Back Falls Parking lot at 1PM Saturday.

If you want to skip the CKC Hogs Back Race and Rodeo, and just paddle at Champlain, we'll be at the Champlain parking lot at 3PM latest, maybe earlier. I'm bringing my creek boat and Christian will bring his his Sea Kayak.

See you Saturday!

Cheers,

Pau ;Dl
