Yeah, sadly, since integrating the forum into the site was a bit tricky, it doens't surprise me that it doesn't work perfectly on mobile.

The two workarounds that we'll have to use (unless someone volunteers to build a better website for free, yeah, didn't think so) include either going directly to the forum url which is currently located at smf.cdb-ottawa.com OR my preferred method which is using Tapatalk app. The experience through Tapatalk is incredibly better than using the forum in a normal browser, I'll never go back.

Hi

The updated website took on some of items from the executives' wish list:
a site where club members could find useful resources/links
updating the online payment method
integrating the forum.
and other items.

In embedding the forum into the website, we were not sure on how mobile devices would be able to see the forum.

A quick search on the Google, indicate some Android phones would have the problem in viewing items embedded into websites. Is there a work around, I can't answer that question.

Hi

No. That would be silly to have everybody access the inner guts of the website. Plus the exec would want to moderate and control the contents of the website.

The web guys are presently a bit busy trying to figure out a few things, but I know you have a bunch of photos of you that you would like to be shown. In due time ...

Larry

Can we all upload photos?? It would be great to see some classics from years ago...

I've been entering the forum via the home page.

The home page and all the other pages that I've visited are fine.

But once in the Forum things get funky (even after a reboot). Things like:

- When I go to a particular topic it seems to load OK, but then when I try to move around on the page the screen shows the content of the previous page until I remove my finger and then it comes back to content of that topic.

- The zooming in and zooming out misbehaves badly.

Dave, are you going to cdb-ottawa.com/forum to use the forum through your "bad" Android device? Or are you going directly to the forum url bypassing the site? Trying to understand what the problem may be.

Yah I was thinking about Tapatalk due to your earlier reviews, but I haven't bought any software yet this millennium, and I want to be careful of not heading down that slippery slope. OK, perhaps......

The forum does behave wonderfully on a Android Nexus 7.

Hey Dave, good question. I don't have an Android phone so I can't comment on that part. I would definitely appreciate feedback from someone else on that to see if it's the same.

May I recommend the app called "Tapatalk"? Works on Android and I've setup the forum to work with it. http://www.tapatalk.com/

Sadly it costs a few $ but MAN IS IT WORTH IT! As compared to using the forum on a mobile device, this makes the forum TOTALLY awesome on such a device. I highly recommend it. If you go down this route, just search for "CdB" when you get to that part and you should find it right away.

I'm liking the changes when viewing things on a PC and mucho appreciate the efforts!  But I'm finding reading the forums almost impossible via my android phone.  Anyone else having issues there?

On behalf of everyone that worked on it including myself, merci!

Bonus, online payment and registration should now work.

Also, a mass message will most likely be sent out soon enough to everyone.
