Found it!!!!

It took a bee-line straight back from the rapids, just right of the little islands in the bay.  Lariza found it along the shore in the shade.  I actually went right by it and didn't see it.

(It's all taped up now - quite colourful!)

Well I told my 'manager' and she agrees with you!  So - guess I'm off the hook!

(Now if I could just find that damn paddle)

Bill, I forgot to get the WT paddle from you - next time

Is that what you learned in your root cause analysis course? The root cause of any crap that happens always leads back to management. The true root cause of the lost paddle rests on Larissa in "allowing" you go paddling for the day. :-)

Larry

Direct cause: the force of the water ripped the paddle from my hand
Root cause: not enough people on the river to help with a rescue => my fault! done it many times and got away with it, this time not so lucky.

I don't see any post for Whispers so I guess that's kinda finished for the season?

Cheers,

Adam

Whispers is still on...

I'm going to be looking on Saturday.  I contacted WT and they are running a trip(s) that day but I don't think they'll be much help, still you gotta try.
I contacted Werner - they explained that the material used is black and they don't add any colour - leaving it up to the individual paddler to do so, or not.  And, that a silver sharpie will do the trick ('cause nothing else will work).
Why it's gone
Direct cause: the force of the water ripped the paddle from my hand
Root cause: not enough people on the river to help with a rescue => my fault! done it many times and got away with it, this time not so lucky.

I noticed in the movie the Grand Inga Project that the paddlers were wearing a wrist strap which attached to their paddles - good idea or bad idea not sure.

After Saturday I most likely will be in the market for a new paddle.

I don't see any post for Whispers so I guess that's kinda finished for the season?

Cheers,

Adam

I have a brand new AT Eddy green (OPS custom model) that has never seen water, still has price tag on it (335$) and is in my garage. I bought it because price was good and people seemed to lose paddles at an alarming rate, so I became afraid it would happen to me... I could be persuaded to part with it. That said, maybe I'll keep it, never know...

(I thought I just posted but it didn't seem to go)

Anyway...

Thanks for the offer Larry but I'll use my old paddle until I figure out what I want to do.

I was having a lot of fun flipping around, not always of my own free will, but it was pretty cool.

Anyway, it's all fun and games until someone loses a paddle!

Right side horseshoe?? So how many loops and ends did you throw down before you let go of your paddle?

On another note. I have a spare Waterstik if you want to borrow a paddle for the day... white blades therefore easy to see.

Larry

I lost my Werner Double Diamond (all black - good colour for the Ottawa river ::)) in Horse shoe - river right

This time its my turn.   :-[

I lost my Werner Double Diamond (all black - good colour for the Ottawa river ::)) in Horse shoe - river right

It has black (what was I thinking!) hockey tape for hand grips and black (I must be nuts!) protective trim around the blades

It answers to the name, oh sh*t! or at least that's the last thing I said.  If I never get it back, I hope it finds a nice home - it was a good paddle and it will be missed!

If anyone sees it, please let me know :(

Adam
