Yeah, definitely "fun" in a rock star. I'm no expert, but I'd say it's definitely workable in a playboat. A few spots you'll have to make sure to keep some forward momentum and there's lots of little play waves (maybe bigger at this level) all over the river. But most will be in creekers for sure.

I texted and called Bill. No answer yet. But I'm pretty darn sure it's just great at higher water levels. American Whitewater describes it as more "fun" when the water is higher and classifies the run as runnable between 2.5 and 7. Since it's at 4.5, sounds like a plan.

So I'm good to go.

How about we meet at my house at 82 Chesapeake Crescent for 9AM tomorrow morning. I live right off the highway (416). From there we can all drive and cross the border together. Make sure you have your passports of course. 613-799-9317.

Please confirm who is coming.

Not yet... but assuming water levels are confirmed to be "not crazy" at 4.5... I'd be willing to head up this trip to the St-Regis. Waiting on Bill to see if he can confirm that but if anyone reading this knows, please chime in!

You know what... I'd be totally in to do the St-Regis again. It's an all around really fun river. But it would be nice to confirm it's not stupid crazy at those levels (I think it's fine and I'm pretty sure people told me it's just more fun at higher levels).

If you watch this video, the very first segment of a few minutes is the St-Regis and then you can skip ahead to 8:02 and watch the second day on the same river. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgAnyOY8L9s Again, water was around 3 on those days... maybe even 2.9 or something like that.

Actually the St-Regis is looking pretty awesome right now. http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/1431/#tab-flow

Last year a few of us ran it twice at about 3. At 4.5 now and still rising. At 3 it was a little bony in some places, at 4.5 it should be pretty awesome. But I've never ran it at that level, so it would be nice to get some confirmation of this from others.

Very tempting...

We are a group of 4 from Kingston, we just paddle an awesome day on the upper Salmon river and we want a second day of fun.  Currently pounding option, Fish creek, St. Regis... does anyone going tomorrow, no one knows the St. Regis in our group.
