The drive there was short and there were absolutely no lineups. My only waits were to catch my breath.
Being there alone I was intimidated by the front wave, or waves as the left and right sides are often separated by a ridge. Both sides of that wave can have some funky foam-pile surges happening to them. So I did a bunch of drive-by looks with out attempting to catch that wave. I only attempted to catch the left side of that wave once, and I never hung around for long after checking in, but I caught it. The 2nd wave was more friendly even though it wasn't as obvious of a target. A sampler of those:

That situation could be improved with some weeding of some bushes. But neither side was really bad as it is. Good footwear may come in handy at other levels.

?? There are no gauges that I'm aware of this side of Maniwaki/Bonnet Rouge, and there are at least two dams between there and here. Adding to that uncertainty is the hydro station at Farmers itself. The amount of flow going through the generation station is fluctuating depending upon power demands etc. So it is difficult to predict what the flow is going to be at any time, but lower flows will likely provide other opportunities.
Anyhow, Richard and any others who might be interested, I'm game to head out there many evenings, but not today. How about Wednesday? Ideally a meeting time of 6:45 or so in order for some of us to miss the worse of the traffic, and to potentially be in a lower electrical power demand time. Perhaps meet at the Alonzo Wright Bridge area (river left along Rue Cartier) and set up a shuttle as one might as well run the other bits as well.
