When are you guys planning to paddle on Saturday? I'm not yet sure when I'll head out, but possibly only on Saturday morning and would like to have some company on the water. Daniel, are you taking your big boat?
Dani

I also go just for Saturday, we could meet at Bate Iland  at 9:30?

I will use my creeker

you have to go here for previous years levels

http://www.canot-kayak.qc.ca/info_debit/index.html

Or you can start your own personal log of rivers and levels.

Larry

Does anyone remember last year's level at the jambouree? The river was ok at that level in my Nomad but I would not be keen on running it that high in my playboat.
Cindy and Renaud, I think you were there last year, would you know?

Most likely to go... but didn't register.  River sounds terrifying... but I guess it could still be fun?!

Hi all.

The level should be around 80 or below this weekend if there is no rain, or higher if it rains.

80 m^3/s appears to be a dividing line. Above 80 m^3/s, it is very 'sporty' in a playboat, so many will opt for a river runner/creek boat. You will still see plenty of playboats on the river however. Below 80, playboats are just fine. But the Mushroom can be big.

In my opinion the magic level in a playboat for this section is 60 m^3/s. Lots of fun, but everything is manageable in a small boat.

Above 100 m^3/s, a big boat makes the run much more enjoyable. The Mushroom is gone at this level, the hard part is actually above the Texaco eddy.

I ran it once at 160 m^3/s in my playboat and it was very big. The river is very different at that level. Big waves form where there's usually nothing. I won't bring a playboat at that level again...

As for Slice'n'Dice, good news. In my experience the center 'S' line between the two holes is good anywhere from 120 m^3/s down to 14 m^3/s, so go for it!

Too bad I can't make it! River rescue course... Have fun!
