http://ottawariverkeeper.ca/news/press_release_ottawa_riverkeeper_s_escape_to_from_aylmer_traz_is_this_saturday

On a relatively cool August morning, the swimmers headed off for the swim. The roles of the escort boaters were to herd wayward swimmers in the correct direction, to provide assistance when necessary and of course offer morale support. Anita completed the 4 km swim in PB time of 1h35m (actually it was the first time). Next year the organizers want to have more swimmers, therefore more volunteer safety boaters will be needed.

Donations are still being accepted by the Ottawa River Keepers.

you silly man. You would not provide rescue service unless necessary.

You would be providing "escort" service. Not sure if that would interfere with the race though ;-)

Won't we be interfering in the race as we constantly try to rescue them?

Me as an escort, hum... Kinky! Sounds like a good cause though!

Anita registered for the 4 km swim
You can sponsor her at:
https://www.giveffect.org/participants/269-anita-netherton

I will be providing safety boater duties for her as she crosses the river.
