A big thanks to the three club members who stepped up to help out!
You know who you are.
My friends appreciated all of the rescue and encouragement, and I appreciated the help.
It was good paddling with you guys.

Ottawa River - Sunday Aug 17

Similar to the August 16th thread, I'm bringin two newbies up to fart around at the Lorne on Sunday, and to try their hands at paddling.  If all goes well, we'll swim the remainder of the main channel, drink warm beer, and celebrate the fact that they are both still breathing.

Imagine back to when you started paddling: as you emerged from the water, gasping for breath, at the bottom of each rapid, you were greeted by a patient smiling face, who had already collected your boat and paddle, and had a kind word of encouragement to offer.  Remember how you wanted to pay that person back?  Well, this is your opportunity to pay it forward!

We'll be aiming to get there for 9:30 or 10:00, and should be off the water by 3:00, so we can get the rentals back in time.

I'm proposing meeting up with interested parties to set shuttle, and sending you off the enjoy yourselves at Babyface, Garb, and Pushbutton while the rookies go over the basics.  After a quick nibble for lunch, we could form up like Voltron, and head down the river as a group.

This will count as your good deed for the day, and you will be free to be a jerk for a full 24 hours thereafter!
