MTL this weekend - Lachine or Habitat 67
« Reply #3 on: September 12, 2014, 07:12:28 PM »
I'm not sure either if I'm looking at the right info but according to Quebec Whitewater and the CEHQ gauge I'm looking at (Fleuve Saint-Laurent  #001003), the Lachine Rapids may be good right now for the Gaetan, Pyramide, and Guy waves but not so good for Big Joe.  The little wave at Habitat 67 is apparently in above 7800 m3/s.  According to the gauge, it looks like the flow was just under 8500 m3/s today.

I've got some plans in Montreal tomorrow so I'd probably only be able to paddle on Sunday...  We were planning on leaving early-ish tomorrow and coming back sometime in the afternoon/evening on Sunday.

Were you thinking you'd spend just Saturday or both days in Montreal?

I would for sure be interested in a Montreal trip this weekend ie. tomorrow. I don't have a car though so would need a ride. It seems to me that the levels are on the high end of in, though I have no idea if I'm checking the right sites or not.

I'll be in Montreal on the weekend and was thinking of bringing my boat and maybe checking out the Lachine rapids on Sunday. Is anyone else going to be in that area and interested in going?

I've never been so I don't really know what to expect but I'll at least have a look from shore if nobody else is there to paddle with. That way I'll be prepared for next time! :)
