Ok, So I got word from the Guelph CLub that the King of Clubs will be happening over the civic long weekend in August.

I hope we can get a team together this year.

I am going to try and spear head this, so I might be bugging everyone about it over the summer.  :D

I second what Jon says! I also want to go to Beaverfest so I'd go to KOC if it was on the August long weekend and we had enough people.

Let's do this this year!

This is a great event, lots of people, lots of fun events.

It is a competition, but there is not need to make it super competitive. We had a team 2 year ago and even though we did not win, it was a ton of fun. and I really don't like competing.

My vote is for the august long weekend, my reasoning is simply because I want to attend beaverfest this year. It seems the concensus among other clubs is to do it on the august long weekend as well.

I think we need at least 5 people, and one has to be a female.

Anyways, think about it and when it gets closer I will post a thread asking for people to come.

KOC - 2015 edition

This is an annual event organized by the Whitewater Ontario. The 2014 edition was held on the August Long weekend. The 2015 edition was slated to be held on the Labour weekend, but there will be conflicts with the 2015 Worlds Free-style competition. It would be more difficult to have some of the events such as the card-board boat race or "collect as many balls" at Garb as well.

The message below was received from Whitewater Ontario, they are asking Ontario clubs which weekend they should hold the event.

August Long weekend
Labour day weekend

Only those interested in taking part in this fun competition should reply to this thread .. and later co-ordinate/organize themselves, promote the event with great enthusiasm to other CdB members, train for the boat toss and have fun.

Unfortunately the time line is short, Whitewater Ontario would like a response from all clubs by Dec 1 .... or this Monday

Larry

Any Clubs Representatives and/or KOC organizers.  We need you input for 2015

KOC was suppose to alternate every year Labour Day weekend, to Civic Day weekend.  I would like to know if paddlers/clubs still want to do this or whether we can make a decision to continue with it on the Civic Holiday.  There are pros and cons to both weekends. ex warm water, longer days, start of school, slalom schedule, busyness of Ottawa R. and resorts, 2015 Worlds, Beaver Fest, etc, etc, etc.

We already know that we get about the same amount of paddlers to the event every year, even when date was changed.  Think future of the event!!!!!  What would continue to get clubs and paddlers to this event.  I and Organizers should make a decision before Dec 1st for the 2015 Date.  Please pass on to other clubs
