To update others of our telephone conversation,  I'm carpooling with Yannick and we are meeting others at 10:30 at the WT takeout Saturday morning.

Hi Doug, I'll just drive up on my own since I have tight timelines.
Thanks,
Yannick

Yannick,
A 08:50 pickup can work for me.  Feel free to park on my driveway apron.  My house is
- on the north side,
- fronted by a low stone retaining wall and bushes,
- has a silver 2003 Subaru and a blue 1984 Chev 1 ton van in the driveway,
- and immediately before a boxy multidwelling    with a pile of dirt and pallet of patio stones  in the median between the road and sidewalk, and    across from a bulb out on the other side of the street.

Having no stops on the way home does not bother me.   If we need to take off at 2:30,  I am a little concerned that by the time shuttles are done,  there will be little or no time to actually play on the river, .  14:30 - 09:00 = 5.5 hours.   5.5 hours less (1.75 travel +  .75 (1st) change/shuttle )  =  3 hours on river time.   (In 38 years of paddling the Ottawa,  I've never run the Ottawa at Beachburg that fast.  Perhaps we should consider alternatives:
- earlier departure
- park and play at Big McCoy
- take off the river later than 2:30
At  3 feet on the gauge, I suspect that the bottom of Big McCoy will provide us good play.  If we choose to run down the river, the main channel will likely be faster if no extra swims result.

I await your feedback.

Alternatively Elizabeth and others:  Are you planning a car pooling meetup time and place for your later trip?  If Yannick chooses to park and play at Big McCoy, might someone get me home, if I went up with him and down with you, or what time might I meet you at an in your specified Ottawa car pooling place?  -  Thanks

Hey Doug. I'm on Parkdale, just a few blocks away.  I could swing by around 8:50ish AM.  Let me know.  I just need to hurry home after the river so no stopping for ice cream!
Yannick

Could I carpool with someone, meeting in town somewhere west of say Parkdale?  I live at 297 Lanark Avenue, just NE of Churchill at Scott, west of Island Park and can get my equipment and self to a mutually convenient transfer point.  Please feel free to telephone me at 613 759-8348. (I expect to be out from 7:40 - 8:30 tonight, but you can leave a message.)   I rarely swim and am willing to support others if their roll is less than solid.

The level was at 3 yesterday, probably going down to at least 2 for Saturday, maybe even lower. I don't think Angel's Kiss will be there.

I'd be up for some playing on the Middle on Saturday.  S-bend, Butterfly, Angel Kiss and below Garvins should be at a good level for some surfing.

Unfortunately I cannot get to the river before 11:45 on Saturday. I have a course that ends at 10 in Ottawa...

Hi Paul.  Let's aim for 10:30 at the Wilderness Tours takeout and run the Middle.  I've got to be off the river for 2:30.  Level should be great for play-boating.

See you Saturday.

Bill & I will join you on the Middle Saturday!

What do you say about meeting at Eagleston for 10am or at the WT Takeout for 11:30am?

Paul:)

I would like to paddle the Main Saturday or Sunday. The levels appear to be getting good for surfing! Is anyone else interested?
