OPG should have a gauge in Pembroke... if it's open to the public that's unknown to me

Mattawa is too far away. the closest online gauge is in Pembroke
Yah but unless there is a hidden (not being broadcast to the public from the WSC site) online gauge for the Ottawa then the two Pembroke gauges are measuring flows for the Indian and Muskrat Rivers whose inputs to the flow at Grand Calumet are miniscule compared to the torrents coming from Mattawa. If you do know of a hidden gauge for the Ottawa River at Pembroke then please pass it along. Wait a minute you must of been referring to the levels that they give on the ottawariver.ca site; yah that one can be handy but it is only updated once a week during most of the year. Also from that site they have weekly data for the Ottawa at Fort Colounge which is closer yet. Perhaps Shaggy is tapping into some real-time data for one of these gauges

the unknown factor is the dam at the island
Yup a big unknown! And if you make me Premier that information will become known  :)

water levels are forecasted to remain steady on the Ottawa

Whatever happen to the times when we just went paddling and enjoyed the outing without the worry of the primo water levels?

Larry

Their calculated levels are probably heavily dependent on data from this gauge:
http://wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/report_e.html?type=realTime&stn=02JE013
and that gauge shows the level at Mattawa momentarily dropping ~40 metres early yesterday. That spike in Mattawa should be treated as noise, and I imagine that the -4 estimates should be as well. The level is very likely above -1.

An even weirder spike in the data occurred at the same time up on Lac Temiscaminque where the water level went up to 10,000 metres yesterday morning:

Where is Noah when you need him?

There's something wrong with the gauge (check the FB group Ottawa Paddling Crew).  The level is currently at 0.

Short of going to Garb, can anyone verify this level? Owl has not posted in 22 hrs (last was 0).

I have never seen the river at this level. What's in?
