Level is dropping, was around 62 this morning when I checked. Still good. I was up at hass hole a couple years ago at that level and it was still perfect.

Been there done that - at overnite lows of 17 it won't be cold.
last time we placed all our lanterns in our pretend fire pit ... beer still tasted the same

It is pretty dry up there

FIRE BAN!!!

I camped at Jessup's last weekend. He did not allow fires. Very eerie and cold sitting around an empty firepit :(

Check before you go, but fire ban is likely still in place.

have fun,
Seamus

Should I bring food and a camp stove, do we eat together BBQ style, or can you go into town to eat and get food?

I usually stop in renfrew and pick up supplies before heading out.

Camping-style. Better to bring your own food and drinks, the 'town' is small...

I need to be back in the city on Sunday so I am planning on driving up Friday after work and returning Saturday after paddling.

Is anyone else doing something similar? Would anyone like to share a ride (I am happy to drive or be driven)?

Hey guys,

This will be my first time attending this event. What time will we be getting on the water saturday? Is it possible to drive up saturday morning?

Regards,

The campground is right on the river, so I will probably be up and on it real early to get a couple solo laps in. But we'll be there all day. you will have no issue finding us, its a short section that we walk back up and run again and again.

Right at the campground is the first rapid, a small run that is easy to repeat, and even has a small play wave at some levels.!

This event will go on!

Bring your rain gear!

I have a kitchen tent that I can bring to set up. Also, if someone has a large tarp I will bring some rope and we can set up a large dry lounging area. Barring that I will stop and get one on my way up friday night.

Think positive thoughts, it was supposed to rain all week here and I have yet to see a drop!

I don't think the event should be cancelled or postponed
In past years I have attended ... there has been rain, sun , snow, sleet, wind, bugs, cold, high water levels, low water levels ...but the event has never been cancelled.

Not sure what club members expect or want out of this event. We used to run our clinics in-house. It's an intermediate river which is just right for the novice/intermediate ... if you want to up the level, paddle the section backwards.

Unfortunately the club's weekend competes with the Ottawa Race weekend, Great glebe garage sale and a myriad of other activities. But I thought this was a paddling club.

I think the forcast is getting better as time goes by. And at 30 degrees, the black flies that Jon promised should be gone!
