Well of course, but to know it's for the Beaver specifically is kind of funny. Between all the rivers in upstate NY that Ottawans go to... he just knew.

Yep, when we got there, he grabbed our passport, scanned them and simply said "Beaver?" to which we both responded with a laugh. They definitely know... :)

The kayaks on the roof might have been an indication as well.

Ha Ha...

It also helps in another way: to validate our destination... I am sure that at this time of the year, the computer systems at Ogdensburg by now pretty much expects a bunch of us to cross the border, this might explain why, when Larry, Robert and myself handed our passports, the guard just held them in his hand without opening them, before handing them back to us! Otherwise he may have noticed mine was expired...

Strange... Nobody at Eagles. Still a good idea to sign your name on the attendance sheet, otherwise they may conclude it's not worth doing those releases...

Well, Jon and I did 4 laps of the Taylorville section and had a blast. Love this river! I think we lapped one particular group 3 times lol

Then headed over to the Eagle only to discover nobody was there at all. We had a few beers and nobody showed up. Decided it wasn't a good idea to run it with just the two of us there. So we had to bail on the Eagle this time. Boooo

Please make a separate thread for the 24th. This post will become very complicated very quickly otherwise :) I can't make it that weekend.

I'm busy this weekend, but the 24th seems like it might be OK.

Well unlike others, some of us haven't had a chance to head out to the Beaver this year.

Jon and I are heading down this Saturday, Sept 17. The usual runs of the Taylorville section followed by potentially the Eagle section if Jon and I are feeling brave (or others!).

Jon and I will be leaving directly from my place since there's no point in heading to the Fallowfield Park & Ride because of where I live, but if anybody else wants to come, then you can organize your rides at the P&R and Jon and I will plan to meet everybody at the put in. We'll plan our departure to coincide with everybody else's.

Let us know if you would like to come.
