Hey Dave, yep, Bunkers is the place to camp. We have a motel but many others camp there. It's also where the evening festivities happen and meeting point. So convenient location for you of course.

As for rivers, totally! Loving this weather and what's funnier is that everyone at work thinks I'm crazy because I'm the only one excited by this prospect. :D

Hi All,

I am hoping to make it out there for both days if I can shake this cold that has gotten the better of me over the last couple of days. I'd be likely camping, and from what I can tell (I haven't been to the fest nor any of these rivers before) the place to camp is at Bunkers "Camping is available at Bunkers for $10/person/night for tents and trailers or anything else you want to use to sleep in"
http://www.whitewaterontario.ca/ (currently the top post on that page)

Levels: Considering the current flows that are seriously on the rise, the mildish weather, and the forecasted rain (mostly for Thursday), the river levels are likely to be higher than Snoop Dog by the weekend. With that in mind the Salmon might be a good first paddle since like forever for me. But I'm flexible.

I'd be down for the Beaver Saturday, or any other destination people are planning (ideally class 3-4). Is the car pool meeting place in Ottawa, or should I go to the bunker for 10? I'm currently traveling alone and plan to bring both a creeker and playboat (2006 Subaru Forester, black), camping Saturday night. Recommendations?

I will have a couple newer paddlers, so I will definitely be taking them down the salmon on saturday. You can set up a meeting for the beaver with others that are looking to do it on saturday.

There are usually large groups going from bunkers.

Sounds great, excited to see the season get under way! I'm interested in attending both days and will meet at the carpool Saturday, if that's good.

Cheers,

Paul

Hey guys,

I will meet up for sure with you guys at Bunkers for 10 am. I'll confirm day/departure time with Simon. Where were you suggesting meeting up Sbdep?

There is also interest to run the Beaver in Saturday.  I'm sure decisions will be made later in the week.  It's just about 2.25 hour drive to Marmora, so meeting around 7 to arrange boats and carpool would put us in marmora around 9:30

So the plan right now is to do the salmon on Saturday. It's an easy class 2-3 river. People usually meet at bunkers hideaway and get on the river after that. 10 in the morning at bunkers is probably a safe bet.

Our group will be there for 10.

Bunkers is here: 239 Station Rd

On Sunday we will be doing the beaver Creek. A fun 3-4 river.

Hey guys,

Simon is interested as well for Saturday. What time should we leave Ottawa to meet up with you? Depending on the start time, I may leave on Friday.

I'd be interested in doing the Saturday run! I've never done any of the highway 7 rivers so it will be nice to try something new.

Have fun! I'll be in Toronto that weekend...

Keep an eye on the Skootamata gauge!
