Would you like to join me doing the Ottawa River middle channel at Beachburg one afternoon this weekend?
Past experience is that on Canada Day afternoon, the Ottawa River at Beachburg is almost empty of other paddlers. We can car pool from a location ytbd. (I'm NE of Churchill @ Scott, west of Island Park, Westboro Beach.) I'm willing to do a bicycle shuttle at the beginning, leaving a car at the bottom, so as to minimize exposure to bugs when we take off the river.. As at Thu June 29 11:30:
- the Pembroke forecast for Sat, Sun, Mon is sun and cloud
with a 40, 30, 30 % risk of showers
with highs 26, 24, 25 °C, and
- the river level has been steady day to day between 13½ and 13 3/4 on the gauge.
If paddling Saturday July 1, I expect we will be back well before 11 pm fireworks. I'm easy as to whether people want to stop for fast food on the way back or drive back directly. If telephoning, note my new telephone number is 613 366-4359.
