At the big cascade we found the carabiner and pulley that I lost last year when Christian pinned. I'm happy to have them back now.

So that's where it was! After 12 months, still there!

Well the Achigan delivered as usual. Nice day with just a few light showers at the beginning, which broke up and eventually turned to sunny patches. Started with 11 kayaks and 1 canoe, finished with 9 kayakers and 1 dented canoe. 2 kayakers walked out early.
Total of around 8 swims. No names to protect the innocent.

At the big cascade we found the carabiner and pulley that I lost last year when Christian pinned. I'm happy to have them back now.

Great day for all in the end when we finished with smoked duck wings and beer in St Jerome.

Ok.... I'm not one for bailing, but with this weather, Jon and I are bailing. Although there's a gap in the rain this afternoon, the overall weather isn't great.

Sorry folks.

Good job Bill! Using facts to convince him... I like your style!

So Jon will be in my car.

I will be at the Tims as well. My usual partner in crime "has things to do". He obviously needs to work on his priorities.

I'll be there.

I'm interested in carpooling and can either drive or cover the gas.  If interested give me a call.

Based on gauge levels and discussions at Whispers this evening, the consensus is to paddle the Achigan on Saturday

It is a  class 2+ -> 3+ river with some larger drops that can easily be carried around: http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/05/AchiganLeduc2003.pdf

It is located in the lower Laurentians about 2 hours from downtown Ottawa.

Plans are to meet at the Tim Hortons in Saint-Sophie at 10:30 AM   GPS:  45.8191486, -73.9014246

OR at the Tim Horton's at Autoroute 50 and Montee Paiement at  8:15am

The usual caveats about spring paddling gear etc. apply.

Please feel free to use this post/thread to arrange rides.
