Hi

Online booking is $20/person/night   camping includes takeout fee.
WT doesn't own the land at the put-in

OWL provides river access at the put-in.

Larry

Hi

I followed your link to RR and have a question.

Have they gone to designated camp sites at $49.00 pet night for up to 4 persons? I do not see a one person one night camping and access fee. I hope there still is one.

When they say access do they mean were we have always put in or does it also include the WT put in.

Hope to see you soon.

the project never really got any traction from the paddling community or WO for that matter. The local rep up couldn't really organize the funding. When WT bought out RR and closed their free takeout there could have been enough interest but that failed to materialize.
There is a thread in the discussion section with some details - use "WT" in the search function.

Most paddling groups adapt either by going elsewhere, choose to park and play, or doing less downriver trips on the Ottawa.
WT wanted to create a community up there but chased most of the paddlers away... or frequent the area less. They even changed the name from Paddlers Meadow to the Upper Campground.
From 2016 "Our goal is to create the world’s best paddling centre. We will be providing wi-fi shortly as well as Whitewater Beer/Pizza/snacks to River Run campsites" .... blah blah

Larry

I remembering hearing a rumor a while back that WO was investigating the idea of creating a free takeout next door to RR's property.
Does anyone know if that went anywhere ?

So they increased them again?

I will continue to not use their take out then.

That's an absolutely ridiculous price to take off a river.

Sounds like good marketing to me ...

Access / Take-out

River Run offers take out and day use passes for all paddlers on the Ottawa River.  This day pass includes use of the washrooms and a safe parking location for your vehicle.   Day use paddlers can also purchase a season's pass for take out access.
Cost:  $12 + HST / person / day
