75% success rate through the canyon.

HorseRace (Confusion) was a massive wave train with a very small break before Turbo.
Turbo was carefully paddled toward the middle to avoid the pourovers and rocks on the river right, and moving right well before the holes at the bottom.
Everything else was big and boily, with Surprise making an appearance as expected.

Time on the river: 1.5 hours including a lengthy scout of the canyon, a 15-20 min lunch stop, and time to reload one swimmer (me) after the canyon.

Good times were had by all!

Well, that was epic. The opportunity to do this section at flood level but in warm water is not going to happen for a while. Years. Very happy to be there!

We had perfect weather: sunny, not too warm. Rafting companies were there, but otherwise we had the river to ourselves.

For the Canyon section, this level is fine.

See you at Montée Paiement.

Hi folks,

With all the rain that we've had the Rouge is above 150 cms...
A group of us will be paddling the Harrington Canyon section of the Rouge.
At this level, it's considered a strong intermediate/class III+ trip, big water boating...

For a description check out:
http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/04/RougeCanyonLeduc.pdf

Current level:
http://www.cehq.gouv.qc.ca/suivihydro/graphique.asp?NoStation=040204

Plans are to meet at the Tim's in Gatineau off of Autoroute 50 @ Montee Paiement at 9:00am.
Please use this thread to arrange rides etc.
