I will go up tomorrow morning too, no point going tonight. I will still bring camping gear for Saturday! --C.

Unless things change, I will drive there Friday afternoon. Beaver Saturday sounds good! Indeed, weather will be fine.

I'll be there for the weekend. Beaver is a likely candidate for Saturday. Maybe some Lower Black on Sunday... Or Upper/Lower combo...

Looks like chilly nights, but the daytime temps are promising!

I'll be there for saturday at least. plan on attempting the beaver.

No idea if I will be staying over. Weather isn't looking so good, so unless it changes...

Thanks for heads-up! You going?

Who's going?

No burning picnic table this year I would suppose.

Folks have been running the Black this spring and it is good to go, besides some wood in one of the first rapids. Skoot is also good to go. Friends that tried to run the Beaver on Sunday turned back saying it's still frozen in... Hopefully it clears out by the weekend!

Just wanted to add--the top video on the festival page is from François and shows our group running the river!

Hello all.

The festival is on, taking place this coming weekend along HW 7. It's a great season warm up (so to speak, as it's still cold). Typically folks do the Beaver on Saturday and the Black on Sunday. Or whatever--the Skootamata might be in too. There is choice between Class II-III and Class III-IV rivers, so lots of options.

I am quite sure a bunch of Ottawa folks are planning on attending. Myself, I plan on driving there at some time Friday afternoon, since I can take the afternoon off. I have a good sleeping bag, so was going to camp at the festival site Friday and Saturday night, and come back Sunday afternoon. I do not know what the weather is going to be, but last year it was only cold Friday night and bright and sunny the rest of the weekend. The ladies in Queensborough usually put up a BBQ and pie sale at the Black take-out, that part is always nice.

I have registered for the event on the KWP website (see above), and also renewed my Whitewater Ontario membership so that I can have the insurance, by the way.

There is room in the car for another person, but I would like to leave early-ish afternoon and take my time getting there... Cheers!
