I left Buck Bay and went to Griffith. The bridge is fine. Will need to keep a sharp eye out and slow down for a number of road erosion spots. Had a great time. Always fun to get together with the CDB.

Palmer rapids really doesn't change too much unless level is 300 cms and greater
I think in the first drop a (surf??) wave forms ... and piano rock is covered. More channels at the top open up too. The section still remains at Class II/III.
At least it's not under a navigation ban.

And the lower mad section is good too except for the friggin long paddle to the rapids.

The Lower Mad is a beautiful, safe, class 2-3 river. The water is fairly deep, all the rapids are easily scouted and seperated by relativly calm water. Popular with beginner-intermediate river runners, it also has a great park-and-play spot at the first rapid at flows above 75 cms.

Larry

Any idea what Palmer rapid looks like at the current level?

I've only seen it around 60 I think.

Last night the Mad was at 150 cms.  According to Bill, that's considered high which makes the river less technical.  Some features will be washed out.

I am interested in running the river on Sunday if anyone wants to share a ride from Ottawa.
We could meet at Eagleson P&R if there are more than a couple of us.

Will meet you at the Put-in (at 10:15)

Hello all:

A few of us met up at Whispers tonight but didn't form much of a plan for the weekend.

-Bill and Paul will head up and to Jessop's Campground for about 11:00 on Saturday.
-Larry and I will arrive at Jessop's later on Saturday and run the river on Sunday. We'll leave from the campgroung to be at the put-in for 10:15.
-Jen and Allan will be taking a clinic on Saturday.

So whatever your plan is, we hope to see you at Jessop's on Sat and/or on the Lower Mad on Sun.  Please post your intentions.
