To add to Paul's numbers using Google:

My house in Sandy Hill to Bonnet Rouge:    125 km, 1 hr 36 min.
My house in Sandy Hill to River Run:          127 km, 1 hr 23 min.
My house in Sandy Hill to Rouge take out:  100 km, 1 hr 05 min.

There are adjustments of course, depending on where one lives. For instance my house to Eagleson P'N'R is 22.5 km, or 19 minutes. But from downtown Ottawa, distances to Gatineau and Ottawa rivers are not different in a significant way, in my opinion. If I am prepared to drive that far, the few minutes differences would be dwarfed by the uncertainty introduced by waiting for stragglers, buying coffee along the way, eating pouting etc.

Greast day indeed.

We had the river to ourselves. Nobody swam, but two of us had rolling to do (good to practice that anyway). I put a few scratches on my new paddle when it got wrenched out of my hand hitting a rock in Des Cèdres (my screw up), but as I said, nobody swam.

And poutine on the way back.

Jim did a good demo of how to paddle my Jackson Antix on the Danse des Draveurs wave at lunch. He had no problem attaining the rock eddy, which is already beyond many's abilities. He caught the wave 1st try... even did some back surf and spun back for a whole 360. May not have been planned, but flawlessly executed! We were all cheering.

A big surprise, in High Tension, was the conspicuous absence of the power lines above the rapid. Will they be replaced by Hydrp Québec?

LOL-OOPS!

Ok, we meet in Gatineau, at the IGA Parking Lot, off the Saint-Raymond exit off highway 5, at the corner of Saint-Raymond Blv and Saint-Joseph Blv at 9am to arrange cars and boats or at the Bonnet Rouge Takeout at 11am to organize the shuttle.

See you Saturday!

Paul:-)

I guess each person chooses a random time in hopes that it is the same as the others?

Bill, Jim, myself, Marc et al are paddling the Gatineau River Saturday.
Level is holding at 11, medium.

Post here to join.

Cheers,
