Yamaska - March 15 2009

It has begun,

On Sunday, Cleo, Chris and I teamed up with some Montreal paddlers to do a warm up run on the Yamaska.  Being in the Eastern Townships, there isn't lots of gradient and it's considered a CII(III) run, but it was running.  It's a very pretty river, with the only traffic along the banks being dogs, hikers, and horses.  The river was surprisingly free, but there were ice shelves, and a couple ice bridges that blocked out progress.  Very little wood too.

Being about 10 degrees and having bright sunshine made it great to be out on the water.  It's probably going to be at a higher level in the next couple weeks if you're looking for a good warmup run.  Details are up on Myosis.ca
